{{THE BACKYARD FLUFFERNUTTER}}

DIDN'T EVERYONE GROW UP EATING FLUFFERNUTTERS?

A Fluffernutter is a wonderful concoction of Marshmallow Fluff (marshmallow crème to the fluff illiterate)
and peanut butter in a delightfully tasty sandwich!

Until I moved away from New England I honestly thought the fluffernutter was internationally know. When I
went to my local grocer and couldn't find "Fluff", I went into panic mode. How do we have our backyard fun
night without Fluffernutters? Not only did they not have "fluff" at my local supermarket, but I couldn't
even find another brand of marshmallow cream in the peanut butter and jelly isle. When I inquired about
where the Fluff was,I got the raised eyebrow look. This became my first realization that not everyone
knew what a "Fluffernutter" was. Marshmallow crème was only sold in the baking or ice cream isles. They had
never heard of putting it with Peanut Butter on a sandwich.

How utterly sad this was. Fluffernutters were as much a part of growing up as running through puddles.

My first call to action was to supply my pantry with Fluff (survival first). I called Maine and had some shipped
to me immediately. What would I feed the kids on Thursday night? Thursday was fluffernutter night
following Wednesday's Spaghetti night.

How did children survive without Fluffernutters? I believe this is definitely some form of child abuse, probably
In the neglect area. Every American child has the inalienable right to be raised on fluffernutter sandwiches.

So, my second call to action is to educate all of America on Fluffernutters.

Did you know:
Astronaut Rick Linnehan brought Fluff with him into space in March of 2008.

Fluff comes in 3 flavors: original marshmallow, strawberry and raspberry

The origins of Marshmallow Fluff go back to 1917. That is way before most of us were born.

Fluff has been a long staple of playgrounds, after-school snacks, college dorms, and the local diner and backyards,
at least where I grew up.

Disney World

I have been blessed with an incredible career and a great job. This past spring my boss sent the kids & I to Disney World for a 5 day/6 night vacation. We stayed at the Contemporary Resort which is just moments away from the Magic Kingdom.

Our family from Kentucky (Mom, Mark, Sam, & Tavane were able to join us for most of our stay. I think this picture was taken on Tom Sawyer Island...after awhile a few of the attractions all seem to run together :-)

This is the kids out by the pool/lake at our hotel. We did have one terrifing incident were Taliya was running back towards our room and she got lost for about 20 minutes. That would have to be my worst moment ever. Needless to say she didn't venture off to far from mom's side again.

Keagan & Grampa Mark engaging into what can only be viewed as an "intelligent" conversation at EPCOT.

Magic Kingdom...we have lots of character photos.

I have more photos...I'll try to get them uploaded so I can share with all of you.

Taliya's Baptism

TALIYA WAS BAPTIZED!! It was a joyful April 6th when Taliya was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by her Uncle Sam. We were all so proud of her acceptance of the gospel and her decision to be baptized. Uncle Sam, Aunt Tavane, Grandma, & Grandpa Mark all made the trip from Kentucky just for this special occasion. The baptism was planned between the morning & afternoon sessions of General Conference and our family was blessed to have so many friends & family members attend this very special moment.

Just beginning!!!

Well, the Stetson clan has finally begun a blog. Keagan has been wanting to start one for quite some time but seeing as though he's only 11 we compromised on a family page. Depending on the mood and time...you could be treated to any of our many rants of the current day. For example...

Taliya may one day tell you about her dance lessons, or perhaps which purse matches her nail polish, or she may just want you to stop by and say hello.

Keagan will most likely talk about Pokemon but I'm hoping he'll broaden his horizons and find additional topics to share with our family and friends.

As for myself...I may tell you about our never ending house project, my daily thoughts on local & national governments, or perhaps I may share a funny story I heard.

So whatever we happen to post I hope you stop by from time to time and check on our family.
